All of my Sweaters are ONE-OF-A-KIND
I no longer knit to order, so I can devote my artistic endeavors to creating the kind of garments that my buyers will be proud to wear on the ski slopes, or just hanging around the lodge.
Why?
In the way of an explanation, it takes a super
knitter with 2 needles at least a month or two, working furiously, 8 hrs.
a day, 7 days a week to crank out a simple sweater.
Few of us can devote that amount of time unless
we have no life at all!
A designer puts even more hours and days into
research, pattern preparation, fiber accumulation, before the actual work
begins. And that speaks nothing to actually learning the craft, usually
from childhood. I doubt if most people employed in the workforce
today would work for such utterly low wages. So that leaves just
one thing--- the love of accomplishment, the love of the craft and the
love when someone else buys my work because they just love their purchase.
Enough said!
My sweater owners enjoy wearing a designer sweater that is a fiber work of art! And you will never see another one like it!
