This page will be changing often with new additions, suggestions, and nice letters from our customers all around the USA.

From Ohio Weaver:
Clacking Beater on the Castle:  Sounds like some sort of Irish folk song doesn't it?  What it means is, when you return the beater and it makes that loud "wooden clacking" sound that you may find annoying (not everyone does, but if you live in an apartment or weave in a room that others could find this noise disturbing--take two plastic caps off of a pill container that's empty now and glue it exactly in the place where the beater touches the castle!  Or use anyother item that you can glue in place to soften the blow and sound!

From Margaret Sheppard, Houston, Texas (re-print from Handwoven Mag. 10/11/94)
DON'T GET UP!  To avoid having to jump up at in-convenient intervals to retrieve a dropped shuttle, bobbin, or other fallen object, keep a GRABBER handy.  About 24" long, a grabber looks like an olive picker with a flexible shaft.
(Ohio Weaver here--My husband Bill had a new hip joint put in two years ago and a new knee joint installed in '98 and this is a tool that can be bought at medical rehab places. Perhaps even drug stores that sell handy rehab items!)
You can use it to reach under and between treadles and into other hard-to-get spots.  It's a Godsend for creaking joints!
